Abstract
Sarcoidosis is a granulomatous disease of unknown etiology in which pulmonary manifestations typically predominate with protean extrapulmonary and systemic manifestations. In sarcoidosis, pulmonary symptoms include dyspnea on
exertion,
non-productive cough and wheezing. Typical radiologic findings is a diffuse infiltration with or without bilateral symmetric hilar lymphadenopathy.
Sarcoidosis shuld be differentiated with pulmonary tuberculosis because of its clinical and radiological similarity in Korea, an endemic area of pulmonary tuberculosis. We report a case of sarcoidosis patient whose symptoms were not
improved
by treatment with anti-tuberculous medication, but by steriod therapy following the diagnosis of sarcoidosis made by biopsy.
